PickleBooster ("we", "us", or "our") is a pickleball training companion that helps players improve their game through practice drills, match tracking, weather, court search, educational content, and gear recommendations. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website or iOS app.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and password. Your password is securely hashed and cannot be viewed by anyone, including us.
Activity Data
When you are logged in, we store data you provide such as drill completion records, match scores, opponent names, match locations, personal training notes, focus tips, and community submissions. Private tracking data is tied to your account and is visible only to you. Approved court listings and court notes may be visible to other users.
Location Data
The iOS app can use your current location, with your permission, to retrieve local weather and nearby court results. Your coordinates are sent to the weather, geocoding, mapping, or court-search service needed to provide the requested result. PickleBooster does not attach your current device location to your account or store a history of those searches.
On-Device Preferences
The iOS app stores some preferences on your device, including recent location searches and Road to 4.0 checklist progress. This information is not uploaded to your PickleBooster account.
Browsing Data
You can use public features without creating an account. Our web and API servers may retain standard technical logs such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages or endpoints, and timestamps for security and reliability.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain your account and training data
- To display your personal stats, streak, and match history
- To improve and develop new features for the site
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except as described below.
Cookies, Advertising & Affiliates
Session Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in while you use the site. This cookie is deleted when you close your browser or log out.
Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. Google and its partners may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. The iOS app does not currently include an advertising network.
Third-Party Services
Our website embeds YouTube videos for training content. YouTube may set cookies when you play a video. Our website and iOS app also link to third-party retailers through clearly disclosed affiliate links. These external services have their own privacy policies.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information. Passwords are stored using industry-standard bcrypt hashing. All database queries use parameterized statements to prevent injection attacks. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
- You can access and view all data associated with your account at any time
- You can delete individual match records and training notes from within the app
- You can permanently delete your account and associated data from Account & Support in the iOS app
- You can also contact us for help accessing or deleting your data
Children's Privacy
PickleBoost is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
